Timing is everything when it comes to destination wedding photography in southern Italy. The Mediterranean sun can be incredibly intense, casting harsh shadows and causing unwanted squinting during the middle of the day.
We always recommend planning your portrait session during Golden Hour, the hour just before sunset. In Sorrento, the sun sets directly over the sea, bathing the dramatic cliffs and historic buildings in a soft, warm, amber glow that looks absolutely magical on camera.
If you are planning an outdoor ceremony, the ideal time is late afternoon (around 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, depending on the month). This ensures the temperature has dropped to a comfortable level for you and your guests, and the light is beautifully diffused for your exchange of vows.
